A tune for times of reflection when conditions are stormy and turbulent. The Roost is a stretch of water which lies between Sumburgh Head and Fair Isle. The stretch of water marks the area where the North Sea meets the Atlantic Ocean so even on finest of days the water is never truly calm.
This melody forms part of a larger piece of music of the same name, which was performed by the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra in January 2007.
